Exclamation Group Buy for Revo ECU (Southern Cal. Only)

If you are interested in a group buy for the Revo technik ECU software reply to this thread or send me a P.M. I just got a 5 hour free trial of the software installed on my car and will be purchasing it once the trial is up. (see the "stock to 1 bar within 10 mintues" thread) I asked the owners of Hergesheimer if they would be willing to do a group purchase and they said yes. This is not offered from Revo Technik but from Hergesheimer located in Lake Forest, Ca. The installation would have to take place at there facility since they do it via the diagnostics OBDII port and a serial cable.

I am not in any way affiliated with Hergesheimer I am just a customer that does'nt want to pay full price.

To get more details about Hergesheimer just go to google and do a search under there name. I don't want to give the URL in case it would be considered spam.

If interested let me know ASAP. Remember the more people that get in on it the better the deal will be. I will post the details regarding the discounts once I get the official word from them.

P.S. The 5 hour free trial should be good at any Revo technik reseller. So if you live by one go down and get a free trial.

Note sure yet but I believe it was more than 10% but don't quote me on that. I think it depends on the amount of people interested.

If anybody else is interested please reply. If there is no interest then I will be getting the software on 5-30-06. The sofware makes a huge difference and my 5 hour trial is almost up. If I wasn't trying to get this group buy going I would have purchased the software today.

I really question what these guys know about Porsches, here is a line from their website:

2001 996 Twin Turbo & X50 3.6L H6 TT 415 HP 415 Lb Ft 520 HP 525 Lb Ft

First of all, there WAS NO X-50 in 2001, secondly (and this is true for all years listed) the HP and torque gain......WAS THE SAME FOR K16s & K24s?

A big WTF from me

i'll be nice about this.

you have to ask yourself....who is better than revo and why?

cmon...105 extra hp w/o an exhaust??

k16 cant make more than 500hp!!

i have actually SEEN a dyno of a revo car - nothing CLOSE to 520 (or 480)...

There seems to be a lot of inconsistencies on their web site concerning this software. When I pointed this out to Mark at a recent Porcshe Club meeting, he said he would notify the manufacturer so they could correct these problems. So far, I have not seen any corrections made.

Also, be aware that there is currently no migration path with this software. If you wish to later go to a Stage III or IV, you might have to go with another software program to achieve your goals.

Looks like this group buy didn't get very far. I decided to go with the GIAC software last night. I was origianlly going with the Revo tune since it was local, could be installed via serail cable, and was less expensive than GIAC, and the free trial was awesome. I did some more research and verified that the GIAC software is installed via serial cable. I then found some dealers in my area that offered the GIAC. All I can say is before you go to a local shop to get this installed call each one and get there pricing. I called one shop and they quoted me 3400 for the basic tune then later when I called back they quoted me 3600. Each place had totally different prices. I ended up going with the "Torque Factory" in Venice, CA. The owner was really cool and let me come down after traffic to get it done at 8:30pm. The price was 2000.00 plus 80.00 for install.

I really can't tell much difference between the GIAC tune and the Revo tune. They both feel really good.
