Blown clutch slave
thought I'd post this as an FYI. My car has a new tranny rebuild and clutch less than 1k miles on it. Other day at the track twice the car would not engage 1st gear, clutch in and let out and car just revs. Then on the track twice the car needed double clutched to engage third gear.
Was fine for another two days. then on my post track 6 hour car check and detail session to remove all the track rubber and marks found fluid on the underside of the car on the driver's side at about the door handle level.
Took car in (not warrantied times ONE WEEK!!).
Found clutch reservoir overflowing and leaking out of the cowl drain and the fluid was low. the clutch slave was also mixing fluid internally.
The clutch slave cylinder was replaced and system bled. all good to go.
Bad news cost.......$1200!!! GOOD NEWS......DEALER STILL COVERED IT UNDER WARRANTY NO CHARGE!!!!............I HAVE A GREAT DEALER HERE!!!
well just thought with all you guys and your clutches I would share!!
