Michelen PS2 or Yoka Advan Neova AD07 ?
I know there's lot's of experience with the Michelens....but I have great experience with Yoko and Bridgestone and am hearing good things about the Advans.
The advans are $100 less, but then they are the stock sizes 225/40 and 295/30-18's and I like the idea of the 315's on the rearthat you msut select for the PS2's.
I'd appreciate input from those with direct or close-hand knowledge.
Thanks.

I had exactly the same dilema and just took the plunge on a new set of PS2's... I'll let you know how they feel in a week or 2... If they don't feel right I'll return them to Michelin and buy a set of Neova's...

I have PS2's on the C4 and are using AD07's on my coupe. Both did reallly well on the track.
No sensation of wandering at all that i can tell. Great tire in my opinion. Going to go to mpsc's or toyo RA-1 next for the coupe.

PS2 is what they run at the PDE
I attended the Porsche Driving Experience just before Easter. All of the cars were new for 2006 and had approximately 1000 miles. Every car was shod with PS2's as Michelin is a sponsor of the program along with Mobil oil. The cars used for track lapping were 997 and 997S. They cars I drove all were equipped with tire pressure monitors. It alarmed me to see the high pressures the tires were seeing when hot. 44F / 53R. I asked several of the instructors about the very high pressures. I mentioned that in PCD DE, we hardly every run higher than 40 hot F/R. Hurley Haywood commented that they got better tread wear and longer life at the higher pressures. I can attest to the fact that there was no sensation of squirm or soft sidewalls. The 997S's were shod with 19 inch rubber. One of the students detected an odd quirk with the rear beginning to take a set in a turn, then popping laterally. Two of the instructors commented that it was a characteristic of the 19 inch tire that they did not like. If it was their car, they'd select the 18 inch over the 19 inch tire every time.
Cheers,

Thanks all. Your input is valuable....but it still leaves me undecided. Although I'm leaning towards the Advans based on past ++ experience with Yoko's and 10% lower price. MK

I currently have the PS2 (took off the Bridgestone S02s), but had the Yoko 008s in the past and still think that is the best tire I have ever ridden on. I would definately be willing to try the new Yokos.

Not that these are very practical, but if you want to be completely blown away, try the track oriented Pilot sport cups on the road...especially canyons, etc.....Holy geez!

I went with the Neova's.......while still teetering, I talked to Alex (x294) at the Tire Rack who had tracked both tires on a Lotus Elise (nice test bed) and he and all his peers found the Neova superior and 1 full sec. faster than the PS2's. He said he personally thought they rode a bit better and were quieter, that they held better, but that the PS2 was more "audible" (louder) at the limit which was helpful, but he liked the crisper/quicker turn-in of the Advans. The key advantages of the PS2's were asymetry (left/rt swap to get more life) and the fact that you can get 10-20 mm wider withs on the PS2....more meat. But the Advans are "closer to a track/race tire".....which is consistent with comments herein, that it's a bridge between an R tire and street. I was also contemplating the PS Cup's and The Yoko A048 (R tire) so this blend sounds good to me.
Given the guy was so strong on the lower priced tire.....$1152 vs, $1290....I went for it.
Thanks for all the input/help.....and you can bet I'll PAY IT FORWARD.
