Default 19" Wheel Tire Sizes

I know I've seen this topic before, but can't find it now. When ordering some RG5's, Champion Wheels said the correct size for the 996TT in the rear is the 305/30/19. I've always thought the 315/25/19 was correct. Are they saying that just because we can't get the 315 right now? Or, does either size work, but the 315 being preferred for the extra meat on the ground? Further, would I be better settling with a 305 Michelin PS2 or a 315 Continental? A tough sacrifice either way. Thanks. gl

be careful cause some tires like yokohamas run very thin.... the 315 was really a 305....... but that was on a 12" rim ... so as long as u have 11" ut fine... if u have 11.5" then I would go with 315.

Ditto markski...........and personally, Contis would not be my choice regardless of size.

Champion Wheels said I may have to run a 5mm spacer in the front with the 8.5's as offset is 49 so it needs to be spaced out a bit. He says usually that width would hit the spring perch. Now with PSS9s it may not, but we'd have to see (which means we'd need to order a set of 5mm spacers for the front for when we install everything).

The Champion rep is saying the 8.0" is a better fit for the front, but everybody else is saying the 8.5" is a better fit. What to do?

However, he's the same person that said the 305/30/19 is the correct tire for the 11.5" rears.

I have Champions with Contis, 19's and they work fine, fit perfectly
do not rub, etc.
the sizes are as follows:
fronts 8 x 19 with 235/35/Z19
rears 11.5 x 19 with 315/25/Z19
looks awesome, rides well, Contis have rib to protect the rim,
kept stock wheels for infrequent track events,
pics to follow soon.
