Default New owner question

I recently purchased a 2004 Turbo Cab and noticed for the first time a pale
yellow light that shines on the steering wheel. I alarmed the car and the light
went out. I disengaged the alarm and the light went back on and the alarm
automatically armed itself without any imput from me. Normal? I plan on
visiting the dealer in a few days and will ask but concerned that the battery
will go dead. Thanks for your responses.

There is a light in the driver's door handle that shines towards the ignition switch, and a light in the rear view mirror that shines down on the console. A switch on the rear view mirror controls the console light at either "bright" or "dim".

P.S. If you unlock the car and don't open a door, the car will re-lock after a short period.
