Expected to have 480 hp.......but there have been recent rumblings that it might only be 460 hp.

The front looks rediculous, the back looks disappointing, the scoop on the side looks good. With the bland 997 interior, I can't see many 996TT owners giving their car and $65k (if you have an '01 trade for $65k on the expected $130k 997TT with some options) for this.

I don't think this is going to go well for Porsche....I see big depreciation in this car's future.

Looks bad! Those round fog lights do not go with the car- just like the new boxster ones. I hope this isnt the final version.... I remember the very first ones where the turbo had MASSIVE side airintakes like the GT... now the grills suck all IMO.

It will likely do well for Porsche.
It will likely be overproduced, just like the 996TT.
It will likley depreciate just as well/bad as the 996TT.

Lewis your probably correct but if anyone views cars as an investment they need to take finance 101.

I don't agree, there are several worthy challengers that weren't around or weren't competitive in 2001, including:

1. C6 Z06
2. Viper Coupe
3. Viper SRT
4. BMW M5
5. BMW M6
6. Ford GT
7. MB Whatever (not a fan)
8. Affordable F360s

Of these, only the GT has a higher price. It ain't like '96 anymore when almost nothing had 400 hp. This car will be whacked hard

Perhaps, but I'd be willing to guess that the trend established since the 930 will continue...people will buy as many '911 Turbos' as are produced. It remains the icon of the 911 family, synonumous with what most people perceive to be a 911 Porsche.
We just have to sit back and wait.............

I can GROW to love it... I mean, I was so against the 996 TT when it first hit the road, you know guys, the one with the plastic front bumper guard on it WAY back in the days.

Now I have one. (without the bumper guard, an 03 mind you) and I love what it did just out of the box...THEN I juiced it to about 550 BHP and I'm buring myself in it now...

I mean, there will be obvious haters of this car regardless... but I see it as an evolution to the family that we are already in... C'mon... I have reservations on it, but I'd still give it a shot...

But what I AM REALLY looking forward to is the Panamera!!!

Good point. As usual there will be the early adapters and Porsche addicts who must have the latest/greatest at any price (too bad I can't afford to be one of these types). The true value minded sports car enthusiast will certainly have more to choose from and some may even sway over to the luxo/sedan/rocket market.

We do just have to sit back and wait..... But it sure as well would be fun to be one of the first to get one and start posting on this forum to get everyone's blood boiling!

No, the CGT proved there is a value limit to a Porsche. With all the 997s, GT3s, Boxsters, Cocksters, Cayennes, Panameras around the marquis isn't very exclusive any more. I think this has contributed to the de-valuation of the 996TT.....which has been good for me, a 4 yr old supercar already 45% depreciated.

The Porsche business model now is closer to BMW than Ferrari, so this car won't fare too well at the projected pricing.

If Porsche comes out with less than 500 hp on this car than I believe they are completely out of their minds.

And Ferrari's business model is moving towards Porsche's which should make the next few years very interesting.
