Yep....in the midst of that, and almost two yrs before delivery, many, many of us had $10K down to be wait-listed. When they finally delivered, many others paid a $10-15K premium to be bumped up.
I doubt that will be the case here.

I know the pics are not beautiful yet ( I remain optimistic) and the waiting to know what it will finally look like is killing us but it won't be long . I am a designer, when not driving or getting great info from this site, and I have come to realize the greatest challenges in product design are in updating or freshing any successful product. Starting from scratch allows a lot more freedom of expression and doesn't come with the baggage of trying to please so many who have come to like, love or appreciate the previous generation. Porsche seems dedicated to making sure they keep their customers satisfied and I can only imagine the number of protos, tweeks and second guessing that goes on when something this important to a company is about to happen.
I do not want to give up looks for performance but isn't this what this car is all about. I would rather be looking at specs on HP, torque, driving impressions, et... than freaking out over a rear end that may not be right. In the end Porsche knows we vote with our $$dollars so they may be having more anxiety than us right now.

I like the rear bumper, but what is with the front. Almost looks like a Benz. If they could work the front nose a bit it has the potential to look similar to the 993TT from the profile. Personally I like the RSR quarter clone version they toyed with. I heard we wouldn’t see that. This confirms that. That picture looks like production even though rumor has it that 20 cars were pulled from the street for VAT issues.

Looks like the originally posted pics are anatomically correct. Here's some more. (Source: http://www.germancarfans.com/spyphot...porsche/1.html)
Fog lights, running lights, turn signals as shown. Rear at least has option of wiper. Looks tons better from the side, but the side intakes are not working for me.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. The car looks just as good as a 996 TT. Why don't you guys drive the car when it comes out and then you will probably sing a different tune. If this new TT is a big of a difference than say a 996 coupe and 997 coupe are then I can't wait till the new TT comes out!!!

I think it will grow on you and be fine in general. However the biggest issue to me, and the same on the 997, is the rear bumper cut line on the side. It was clean and unobtrusive on the 996, how did it get to be featured? Poor design from the best design studio in the world. Go figure.
Bill
PS, I like the 997 and considered buying one prior to finding the TT I could afford, so time heals bad design I guess?
