The Upsolute chip is in and the car runs completely differently. I thought the car was fast before...wow, the difference is wild. So smooth and so much additional power.

I have run it pretty hard to confirm that the CEL and other indicator lights didn't illuminate (apparently in 5% of the Turbos there can be some issues with software).

I am pulling 0.9 bar consistanly with 1.0 coming on very frequently.

And for $700.00...crazy.

How come they make 510 bhp keeping the 1,0 bar max pressure rule of thumb??? Is the software RS Tuning based? What have they found that no one did then??? I'm really tempted because of the price and because they keep the boost within 1,0 Bar but I need to see some questions answered first...

I think the K16 turbos are good to a maximum of 1.2 bar. My car runs 1.1 bar with no problem.

Default Upsolute - Wow

Yesterday I got the ECU upgraded on my 2001 TT by Rene and Andre of Upsolute here in Charlotte. They took great care of me, and did the upgrade while I waited. They even gave me a copy of the original EPROM code in case I need to go back to OEM some day.

Wow what a difference. The car really screams now. I'm usually a skeptic, but there is no question the car is noticably faster. Boost runs up to .9 Bar where it used to max out at .6. Now I'm having trouble finding enough road. Maybe I will have to find a DE event.

This is my only performance mod so far, but I'm thinking new Diverter Valves may be in order.

I am very pleased.

Sounds like fun! Just remember on the 01s you really need to upgrade your spark plugs from FR5s to FR6s to be able to run more boost... otherwise you might get some missing. Put it in 3rd gear and then punch it from 2000rpms. DVs would also be a good idea with the added boost. The stockers will likely leak/bleed boost after a while.

Congrats on your TT. I also had Rene upgrade while I waited. Think it was February of '04. You're right about the performance. This is the first car I've ever had where I can feel the blood rushing to my head under acceleration.
I installed Bailey DVs the first month I owned the car (April '02). The OEMs were moaning right out of the chute. I also installed an aftermarket exhaust and the EVO intake. Sharkster is right about the spark plugs. You might want to think about changing them out as your second mod. Good luck. If you need any local help, let me know.

Thanks for all the advice. I had the DV upgrade on my radar. I guess I should go ahead with the hotter plugs too. I think I'll wait to do anything about the exhaust until I get bored with this configuration.

Glad some are happy with Upsolute, I tried contacting them on numerous occassions with successive EMAILs they never responded, so it made me leary of these guys, since they can't even answer emails!
