So to recap:
The B&M sort shift kit comes with a replacement shifter (that your stock porsche **** works with),
and has included this billet shifter linkage that replaces the so called "weakest link".
I am out of warranty so I dont care about that, but how is the shifter resistance or stiffness
once you put in the short shifter?? Could a spouse or "newbie" shift it easily assuming they
were proficient at shifting already?

The EVO ShiftLink is not a part of the B&M short shifter...you buy the link separately from EVO. The link prevents breakage, and makes the shift gates more solid at the stops.

A properly installed B&M shifter is not hard to shift at all.
