997 "chrono" against 996 TT : my experience
I was yesterday at the track with a friend and his 997s chrono. We have similar driving level. I made 1mn58s with my plain Turbo ( the best time of this track day ) he made 2mn0s with his car. We put slicks in his car and a "pro" ( the European Truck Champion of this year) drove the 997 chrono: he made.....1mn47s. Very, Very close ( in this track) to the GT3 times..... It made me think a lot.....

You have to realize that the 997 w/chrono is Porsche's *best* N/A 911 - their latest technology, the most power, and the best handling. A stock Turbo is not Porsche's *best* Turbo...the best would be an X50 Turbo with X73. So at a minimum, a Turbo with X73 should be the platform to compare the 997S chrono against - and my bet goes on the X73 Turbo being significantly faster. Porsche made the Turbo in stock form too "GT". It's too soft in the handling department. Porsche *should* have made the X73 option standard...it's a huge difference.

The X73 Turbo will be significantly faster than the 997S indeed.
