Default Chnges to 2002tt ?

Besides the glove box and other cosmetic things, are there any changes to the body/structure of the car or it's drive line from a 2001 model to the 2002? I have a C4S today and a desire to move into a tt. 01 prices are looking good for this so the question relates to real value changes, not a glove box or something.

Thanks, I appreciate the forum and participate on the 996 as I have had 3 different non-turbo models. Time for the move up huh?

Default 01 vs 02 TT

Early 01 cars had solid spoke wheels and front bumperettes, also called warts. The 02 cars have glove boxes. I think the big difference in the value between 01 and 02 may be because the 02 models still have factory warranty. This is a mute point for CPO cars.

IMO the 02 is slightly more desirable, but may not be worth the price dirrefential between the two years.

I bought an '01 because the differences seemed minor EXCEPT for the $12k price difference. I have a bumperette car and solid spokes........but getting a boxster red interior with full CF pkg, Alpine sound, CD changer and nav system, heated seats, lumbar, etc for less than $70k was worth it to me

you got a kickass buy shark!
Brick, no drive line/ chassis / power difference between the two. your 02 will have rain sensing wipers, self dimming rear view mirror..... and oh yeah! a really cool box to keep your gloves in! I bought the 01, saved the 10k diff and bought other goodies with it.

My 01 has Rain Sensing Wipers and Auto dimming rear view mirror, but these were a $690 option. Take a look at my sticker: www.bluelinecomputer.com/911/windowsticker.pdf

I thought I sensed my name being typed somewhere....as long as it's not in the Cayenne (vehicle from hell) forum.

No significant changes to the engine/drivetrain, lots of cosmetic/comfort options (Bose available in 02, glovebox, some previous options bundled in). Nothing that would make any difference in making a decision I would think.

I will reserve comment on any changes to the windshield wipers, as I never knew these cars had them until I accidentally hit the switch on the dashboard last week and saw wipers move.....yes, she's a queen and never been in the rain.

Look at the 993TTs as an example. When I started looking 6 years ago, there was a huge price difference between the '96 & '97 for the same level of cosmetic differences. Now the pricing is the same between the years (the condition of individual cars now being the difference).

The 01 was the lightest.

I believe Porsche claims the same weight for both the '01 and '02.
