Default Can one have a car bought from an indep. dealer Porsche Certified?

1. If its under time and miles for the warranty expiration
or
2. If its over one or the other (is it possible but will cost more to do?).

I know aftermarket companies offer warranties but that would be a last resort or not even considered as they invariably try to get out of paying.

You would need to persuade a P dealer to "buy" the car form you, certify it, and then "sell" it back to you. (The dealer would charge you the cost of certification.) IME, most dealers have little interest in engaging in this practice.

Tried it at several dealers...as GBG said they are not interested unless they sell the car.

Same experience for me - dealers want to sell an extended warranty from an outside company.

It's odd because you would think the extended warranty cost would be set at a level where Porcshe feels that they will come out on top of any repairs that they have to pay for.....that theory being the same, you would think them checking over your car and certifying it, especially if they have the service history, would be money in the bank for them.
I guess its just an incentive to help their dealers resell used cars....

Doesn't it work out to be an $1800 extended warranty? You could have the dealer buy the car on your behalf, certify it and then sell it to you. Then it's a question of the value of the transaction to them. It would need to add at least $1800 to your price, and probably a thousand more. AS

You jest.....yes I have done it but with a Porsche dealer with whom I had a longstanding relationship

If you want a certified Porsche....buy it from a local Porsche dealer
