I totally agree now. I got the opportunity to drive a 997 yesterday and I realized a GLARING lack of power compared to my old 440 rwhp Z. I know now the tt and a visit to one of the many tuners on this board is what is in order.

NA Porsches just don't have the low end torque you are used to with a V8. Have to get pretty high in the rev range to get NA 911 real exciting, but they are getting better. The TT has gobs of torque low in the RPM range. My car hits hard at around 2,700 RPMs which is basically right after you let the clutch engage and step on it.

You have to drive NA 911s for a while to appreciate them. I was really disappointed in the low end power when I first began driving them, but they get fun once they are reved.

Unfortunately, NA Porsches are kind of lost performance wise. They don't have enough torque, nor are they high rev cars (Ferrari) except for the GT3.

A slighted modded TT with suspension, exhaust, SSK, and ECU upgrade is the only super, all-around, sportscar you'll ever need, and one that you must own at least once in your life. Anything else is a compromise or an exaggeration one way or the other.
