Default Just pulled the trigger

I've been lurking here for quite some time, lying in wait for the perfect car.

I have never been a Porsche owner, but it has been my lifelong dream.

Yesterday, I pulled the trigger on a 2003 Porsche Certified 996 Turbo. Seal Grey with Black leather interior. Rear center console painted exterior color. Aluminum trim. Clean single owner Carfax.

I'm trying to have a clearbra installed, and hope to take delivery in a week or two.

I Can't Wait! I'll post pics when it gets here.

BTW, the wife is now forcing me to attend a Porsche DE course. Darn...

Way to go Kevin!
Seal grey was my second colour choice, looks fantastic on the turbo.

Go out and take her to a nice restaurant... Wife forcing you to take a DE is not a bad suggestion... nice that your wife is supportive of it.

Congratulations on your new baby!! Post photos when you can.

Seal grey is a great color indeed (plus it stays clean even when dirty) and a favorite in these parts. The DE stuff is really fun and you'll love it too

Darn???? You are a lucky man! Ever since we had our first child last November, DE days have become a thing of the past for me. I used to LOVE DE days... bombing around the track / learning to improving my driving from a qualified instructor / bombing around the track again trying to implement what I had learnt....

That's about as fun as it can get for me. Mabye your wife can call my wife?

Thanks everyone for the encouragement!

I think it is now high time that I become a 'Rennlist Member'

Zippy, no kids for us. Maybe that is part of it? Anyways, she is insisting on the Porsche DE so that I don't go out there and kill myself with this much power. (She's seen how I drive my '97 Golf!!)

I think that several months of talking constantly about Porsche Turbos finally wore her down! No, really, she is quite a woman.

Thanks again everyone and I look forward to soliciting your advice in the future.
Pictures to come........

Good job on the car.

Can I ask the mileage, options, and what you paid?

Thanks!

Shark,

10,500 miles.

To be honest with you, I'm not entirely sure what is standard and what is optional on these cars. Porsche crest in the headrest. Aluminum trim interior. Plush black leather power seats. Exterior color rear center console. 6 speed. 22months remaining on standard factory warranty with additional 24 months secondary to Porsche Certification.

Does NOT have satellite navigation, which is the ONLY thing it does not have that I really wanted. Anybody know of any good aftermarket systems. Is it possible to have a Porsche PCM navigation system fitted after the fact?

Oh. I hope it is OK to post this here, but I paid $89,500. (Not including the $25 I just paid for an unlimited month of CarFax!!!) I am having a Clearbra applied before it is shipped to me, which is costing an additional $835. (Being added to the price of the car)

Also, what do you have to do to get the wife to encourage the strip club visits?? I think I missed that chapter in the handbook.

I have to promise to leave her alone for awhile

Kevin,
Thanks for the information. Nothing wrong with putting prices out there, after all its us (buyers) vs. them (sellers). Good solid price for a low mileage beauty, congrats

I have the Alpine DVD navigation and it works well in conjunction with my Alpine CVA head unit.

I didn't even know there was a handbook, can someone send it to me please!
