Hi pics of the new car are coming, just wondering if anyone can recommend a chip, im here in sunny Vancouver. One ignorant question will this void the warranty and if so am i better to wait until its done as the last thing i want is an engine problem, sorry i know this topic has been beaten to death.
cheers
IMHO, the GIAC software is the best overall. You can get the Flashloader hand-held controller so you may easily flash the ECU from Performance to Stock (and back) whenever you wish.
Its a VERY convenient option when visiting the Dealer.
Power gains depend on the software upgrade of choice and whether you use the stock K-16's or an upgrade to Hybrids or K-24's. Its a wide range beginning at 60-70HP to over 100 HP. Exhaust systems also make a difference in the final results.
In the US GIAC is the most popular and not only have we been selling but I've been using his software on my car for like 3 years now? Everyone digs the flash loader too It's 2000 for the stage 1.
Has anyone had any experience with the Revo Technik software programming. It is flash loaded and can be changed for different applications and octane ratings. They claim over 100 hp on an X50?
Here is a link to their website: http://www.revotechnik.com/products/....aspx?pvID=493
The market had adopted the GIAC software as the most widely used. As far as I know no one in this country has come near flashing more TTs then GIAC and its dealers. I know for a fact that myself and EVO have flashed well over 100+ cars a year. I can't even keep the flashswtichers in stock.
Keep in mnd that our warranties are lifetime on the product and always can be used as a credit towards the next series of software upgrades.
These products have not been tested on customer cars. They have been tested on daily drivers owned by various dealers like my self. Real dyno gains. I also believe that there are 5-6 of us in the GIAC family that have Mustang Dynos and maybe double that of other brands.
I agree on Neil....he has my respect.
.....but, right now his site appears to be down......and I'm waiting on responce to Email I sent him last week.....haven't heard from him......not sure whats up, maybe he's on vacation?
Calcareer,
The REVO software is a solid product that is just making it's way here in the states for Porsche. They have been very popular around the world and have years of experience in tuning. Customers have been very happy with the programming and if you are interested, give us a call and I can set you up with a free trial.

Is this really secure? It's probably paranoia but I would imagine the dealers could find it if they really wanted to without pulling the ECU.
Indeed, it is.
Using the Flashloader, one can reflash the original factory programming back into the ECU and when its read by the Dealer's scan tools, a cursory scan reveals that nothing is different from stock.
