I just solved my stereo problems. The OEM Becker unit is history. Replaced with an XM ready Pioneer Premier series head unit. And, the XM FM modulator unit is gone. Now for the best part...Pioneer sells an iPod adapter (model# CD-IB100) that hardwires the iPod into the Pioneer head unit. No FM modulator needed. Also has a built in charger.
I really do not need the CD changer any more because all the good cds are on the iPod. You can spend $179 to $500+ for the Pioneer head unit and the iPod adapter runs $129. Not bad for about $700. The best part is that the POS Becker unit is outa here.

For those who don't know, Dension makes iPod car kit for CDR-22. That way CDR-22 sees iPod as a CD-changer and let's you scroll tracks through head unit.
Price is a bit steep (~100 £), but it's definitely worth it.
