Default '03 996 TT-Headlight Washer

I used my headlight washer tonight while driving home. When I turned off the light and ignition and parked the car in the garage I noticed that the head of the pop up was extended an inch or so above where it was before it was used. Does it come back down on its own, is there something I should do, or does it need some adjustment? I tried to find the answer in the manual and I could not. Thanks for a response.

My first thought is...you clearly need a new car. :-).
or
It was so dirty you needed the washer? Some would consider your car abused. LOL.
or
Nobody here can answer that because they would just pull over and use the damp chamois sealed in a plastic bag in the bonnet. (oh, wait, that's me).

But
I think you should be able to lift up on it slightly and it will rebound back in to the slot. Did you go over a bump while they were squirting?

Actually, I was parked in the driveway to my house and decided to see if the headlight washer worked so I activated them. I am accustomed to the Litronic system on the car I sold '99 996 C2 which just sprays not pop up. Maybe, knowing Porsche it is designed so that wind flowing over the pop up head will force it back down flush. Ahh, a good reason to head for I-95 tomorrow and do 140mph to see if it goes down on its own.

Eureka, Eureka!!! I got up this morning and the pop up headlight washer was now fitting flush. Overnight, the pop up is now flush, back where it should be. However my plan for I-95 run is put on hold

Default Dealer repaired Headlight Washer '03 TT

I told the Dealer what occured with the pop-up washer unit. The tech who repaired the car made the following note:
Headlight Washer Cover Retaining Tabs Ineffective.
1) Replaced Headlight Washer Cap

What headlight washer?

(I've never used the headlight washer... or the windshield washer.)

I used mine ONCE on my old C4S, and BOTH of the metal covers flew off at night on a busy highway; needless to say, they're still out there somewhere. I don't use that feature on my turbo.
