Seriously though, I'd just rent at the track, plenty of places to do it. Also, Id hate to get passed up by the minivan when I'm in the TT. It happens at the Ring, saw it, and it was pretty funny.

The problem with shipping is that it is not exact on dates of arrival. A lot of variables like weather, other ports it has to go to, where your car is on the boat when it comes to off load, general port operations.......I find it highly unlikely you will be able to just drive around with US registration only.

I do know normal, albeit hugely wealthy, vintage (Ferrari) guys fly cars over for tours as normal retail shipping Customers, and I imagine the importing/inspections are regulated however - so once cars hit land, they should all be subject to the same treatment.

So, similar to my last poll "how long have you owned your Turbo" let's all bet on "how long Evolution will remain married" if he takes the future Mrs. Evolution to the Nurburgring on their honeymoon in '21?
my current thinking relative to int'l shipping and all other current madness is we currently have ( at last count ) over 3 dozen oil tankers loaded off of CA coast right now with nowhere to offload. at least the marooned cruise ships have all been brought in. i imagine shipping a car now might be easier, but right now? all bets are off.

as to your last question. my bet - if she likes the 'ring, you'll be fine.. if not? just get her a bigger ring lol

Of course not, he is obviously trolling. Which I am sure you are aware.

Easy, just take her to a castle on the Mosel River which is not far away, Burg Eltz is the best in Germany. there are tons of wineries and what not to spend a few honeymoon days at.

of course not, a lot of the people who take their nice fast cars there don't know the track as well as others in slower cars. Just sayin', Id be getting passed by the van.

Some folks are amused by irrelevant things.

Burg Eltz is a nice castle, but IMO it pales in comparison to Neuschwanstein Castle.
