My 2002 X50 has collected many of the usual suspects: Among other modifications, I have GIAC Stage 4; Bailey DVs; and Fabspeed SuperSport exhaust system. I've had it on my car for approximately a year and I love it. It makes power and the sound is pleasing to me. Yes it's loud and has some of that resonance everyone seems to get so puckered about. Bottom line: The system works; it's well made (no cracking or finish problems after a year's use); and it complements the other modifcations made to the car. I wanted to sharpen my car as a sports car not make it a more desirable daily driver. I think the Fabspeed SS positively contributes to the accomplishment of that goal. If your goal is to build a stealth fighter, don't use the Fabspeed SS. Different strokes for different folks.

My Cargraphic came from Stephen at IA and cost right at 5K. It's steep but worth it, thing is built like a tank and does its job.

Thanks,
Ted.

Cargraphic - built by phoenix race exhausts, developed on an engine dyno, gives 21PS on stock motor, design now much copied.

i have the fabspeed sport. i got it after considering europipe, techart, etc...
just figured i'd start out with most power gains for thousands less..

power gains were immediately noticeable, even to my girlfriend who was not informed that i did anything to the car. she turned to me and said that the car felt faster. i confessed at that time.

with the ecu upgrade -

the resonsance/drone issue is right around 2200-2800... and throughout all rpm's the exhaust sounds great. aggressive, throaty, and that burble burble after a WOT is the coolest thing....

i've had it on my car since september 04, around 2000 miles...

but i'm ready to try the techart exhaust, which arrived this week!

will post impressions when installed!

Anyone have any impressions on AWE?

At this point I'm leaning towards Fabspeed Sport (quiet) because I want some extra noise but not too much but I have no way to hear one in person unless someone near Norfolk/Virginia Beach has one. My only concern is the resonance/drone and if it'is too intrusive to "enjoy" the car during normal driving... Is the RPM range drone even when you're just cruising down the road or just when you're going WOT?

Kreissieg had their titanium 996 Turbo system on display at the SEMA show in November. The workmanship is awesome with the valvetronic operation but the price is equally as awesome at over $15,000.00 US.

exhaust update.

installed a techart quiet yesterday and drove around a little while.

i think i lost some power compared to my fabspeed...

i used to be able to get wheel slip in second gear and now i can't.

it feels a little sluggish now...

it is a little quieter.
when i start it up, and at idle, it isn't as loud.
in parking lots, it doesn't set off alarms.
just very muted til about 4~5000, and then it sounds like a machine gun..

do you think the ecu needs to adjust and compensate for the new exhaust?

so i don't know if i like it yet!

Yes, I assume this is their same valvetronic technology which makes things quite expensive. It sure is beautiful though!

Any others? Does Motek make a 996TT Ti muffler?

Have had the AWE/McNeil for a couple of weeks and love it. Fit and finish are excellent and it sounds great. No drone, not too loud or obnoxious.
