Default turbo rear spoiler

hello all, new member here with a question i hope someone can answer. How do you remove the rear spoiler on a 996tt ? if anyone has done an upgrade or swap i would greatly appreciate the info. To clarify i am refering to the upper section the raises/lowers

You will need the tool to unlock it. There is a hole in each arm. Once you raise the spolier you will see the hole. You need to make or buy a toll to latch into the hole. It tool looks like a fan tool for an old 911. Lock the end of the dowel or tool into the hole and simply unlock the latch. It moves about a 1/4 of the way then frees the spolier. Thats it. Careful not to slip you will hit the quarter if you do. It also helps to have two poeple helping with this.

You can do it with a spanner wrench. That is what we use, works like a charm. Use it exactly as described above

I prefer Stephen's hand-made Tool It's ghetto-looking but works a treat!!!! I still remember using it on the Roock spoiler we used last year.

thanks for the good info, i knew the little hole had something to do with it. Looks like i'll have something to do this weekend. On my way to fabrication area to make myself a "special" tool
