Bump Steer???
Anyone experience bump steer when at high speed going around sweeping corners??? It is an unsettling feeling I have been getting with my 2001 996TT. It is the first TT I have owned and am not sure if its the steering input from the all wheel drive or actual bump steer???
It just seems the car darts and the steering wheel moves when going over bumps while cornering at speeds over 80 MPH.
Is this common for the 996 TT??

Get the allignment checked.
One way to spot bump steer over other sorts of problem is under hard braking on uneven surfaces. Bump steer will make the car darty under those conditions as the bumps move the wheels up and down.
Not so likely you would have this on fast sweepers because the surface is less likely to be uneven so the wheel is able to take one set and stay there. If the wheel isn't moving up and down you won't get bump steer.
So I think the problem is elsewhere. I never noticed a bump steer problem on my Turbo.
