Default over from 996 board - purchase ?

i am looking at upgrading the c4s to a tt.

i have driven an 01, 02 and 03. the 02 and 03 seemed a bit tighter and stiffer overall as compared with the 01. are there any upgrades that Porsche made after 01 that might make me notice this? or was it my imagination?

any reason to stay away from an 01?

thanks a ton.

03 C4s

imagination....02 on have a few options as standard like rain sensor, BOSE, self-dimming mirrors...Also, 02 on have the glove-box
Lastly, early 01s had solid instead of hollow-spoke wheels and those ugly front bumperettes....
advantage of 03 over 02 is a better PCM (PCM II instead of I)

Pete.

Funny, when I took delivery of my 02' TT the salesman and the service manager both told me that there was no break in period and that "The motors have been broken in before they are installed in the chassis". Needless to say I didn't bellieve this and broke my TT in properly. I was just curious was it a Porsche dealer that told you the break in period was 1800 miles?

Nope, pg 14 of the owner's manual.
