Default Just fitted Bailey DV's

My car has circa 14K miles, so the OEM DVs should still be fine, so I didn't expect any changes, but now get 1.2 BAR more often than before (I have Upsolute) and hear the Turbos spooling down more.

I have been following this DV discussion for some time now. Two reps from Porsche (one overseeing much of the western USA) have advised against it. I even provided the A.W.E. Tuning site info. Will Porsche still waranty the motor with an aftermarket part like the Bailey DV, or will Bailey step up to the plate?

Odd then that some dealers have replaced the worthless (total crap) stock parts with Baileys under warranty.

Again, it really all depends on the dealer in the end...I know two dealers in Boston, one is tyotally against mods the other even sells Baileys and B&Ms

My OE Bosch DVs went out at around 18K miles. I have Upsolute, so I am not sure if the extra boost was a contributing factor to the blowout or if I was just 'lucky'.

The dealer did not call me at the time of repair so they put the cheap plastic OE valves in. I asked them about the Bailey (or other billet DV) and they said that they would have gladly put in the part if I gave it to them.

Honking under partial acceleration in a certain RPM range. I do not recally exactly what range, 2800-3500 sounds right.

Interesting, when I got my 02 with just < 6000k miles, I heard the 'honk'. So, I guess mine went out pretty 'early'. :-(

you win! :-) btw.. when did you start your mods ? I'm going to guess that power mods will make it fail that much faster ? Nice pic.... where was this shot taken ?

Hehe I bet there's someone out there that put on the Baileys before they even drove the car off of the lot! Running more boost does indeed make them fail faster yes. They're pretty lame little plastic units stock... I started modding about a month after having the car but nowadays I see people buying a whole plethora of mods before they even get the car. I'm old school now.

That pic was from the shoot out event (one of the magazine guys took it) in December at Buttonwillow. I wish that was me driving but it was Cort Wagner....
