Default Turbo artwork

While reading a recent copy of Architectural Digest, I was excited to see the following artwork. Per the credit, it is a painting by an artist named Ted Gahl. Here is the article link: https://www.architecturaldigest.com/...and-a-sailboat

That aspect ratio is puzzling. Giant space vertically on background but next to none left and right. Agreed on being awesome text.

Nice find! I dig the painting.
That house might be a bit harsh for me, exposed CMU block on the interior? and this is coming from a minimalist architect!

That is the desired affect.

One of minimalist art's primary tasks is to get the viewer to "think". Job done.

That's the point of it. You're perplexed by the composition of the piece just as the artist intended.

I'm not perplexed in a good way.

Good way or bad way doesn't matter one bit. The artist got you thinking. He or she accomplished a primary goal. The piece is a success.

Most (if not all) art gets me thinking.

Hahah! I don't get it either. One time I was staring at a painting at a friend's new house and I said out loud "art to me is a full six pack". The artist was standing right behind me. Doh!
