Hypothetically if you *really* slip the clutch....

I let my Dad drive the turbo after I got the CMS box installed; he thought it was a good idea to downshift from 4th to 3rd at around 90mph without matching the revs....
Needless to say, that was the last time Dad drove the turbo.

Some people just have no clue.
My GF pulled out of a parking lot on the road at a 90%angle. The scrapping from spoiler should have been enough to warn her but no. She kept on going then BANG as the exhaust slammed into the curb. I got to stop drinking.

There is something called respect and unless you asked him to show you how to launch the car there should be no reason to spell out the expectations. Especially to a car enthusiast.
My car buddies will tell you I'm their cars best friend cause unless they ask me to shake down their car it's going to be driven like my 90yr old grandma is riding shotgun.
Even if I am permitted to get on it I'll never abuse it and this person doesn't sound like any friend. Launching the car to show off is one stupid mistake but to keep going through the gbox with clutch smoke pouring out is just disrespect to you and your car and not the actions of a car enthusiast.
If the disc was stuck and popped loose when you drove the car after cooling down then the disc melted enough to stick. The clutch is likely glazed.
He owes you a new disc it's $500ish and a days worth of r+r if he's handy he should buy you a new disc and show up to help change it.
