I bought mine but you can find a free version on the Internet. I get support so to me it was worth it. If you work on your car and has other P cars, I would recommend it. If it's just for your car it might not be worth it. Those are cloned versions so there are limitations.

Interesting - so with a system like this, one could remove the downstream o2 sensors?

Seem to vary quite widely in pricing.

I don't think PIWIS can alter any emission related features. You can code out other modules or features and the warning lights on your cluster. I can hook you up with someone in your area if you ever need help. I helped a few people in Canada 👍

Thank you - I was just thinking about how much I hate engine lights and those that are running catless, or want to remove their secondary air pumps have fewer options to remove that irritating light now that the EPA has crushed the will of most tuners.

Cheers,

Let me research on that. I just got my car last month. In the newer cars, most of the warning lights can be turned off. I have not seen that in the 996 cluster.

Thank you, I'm sure a number of folks here would be curious to know.

Cheers,
Ok I took a quick look and there are indeed 14 settings for the cluster light. The coding is in HEX so I need to understand what they mean. Off position should be 0x00

I wonder if that will in fact eliminate all lights.

Cheers,
Unfortunately, I was unable to disable the Airbag light. I will be using a resistor to disable the Airbag light. 😮

That's a pity, but thank you for the effort!

At the risk of hijacking this thread, does anyone here have a PIWIS and live in the Colorado area? Or know someone who does?
