We are building a Porsche 935 using a 996 Turbo chassis. The problem we are running into is differential gearing. We are running a set of custom Forgeline wheels in offset sizes. The car is running Hoosier A7's with a 24.8" Diameter in the front and a 26.8" Diameter in the rear. We would like to retain the stock gear ratio in either the front or rear (depending on what is cheapest/ most available). If we are to replace the front gears we would need a 3.18 ratio and if we replace the rear we would need a 3.72 ratio.
I have done tons of research and talked to countless different companies and manufacturers about this to no avail. I can not find anyone who has a similar gearing in the front or rear. We are looking at retrofitting a front differential from a different car entirely at the moment. Still having trouble finding any front diff that can have a 3.18 or similar. Does anybody know someone who can make a custom ring & pinion for the 996 front diff or any front diff that can handle ~700hp and has a close enough gear ratio?
Totally stumped at the moment on this project. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
