I had a C2 coupe that had multiple rattles coming from Cpillars and rear headliner.
Turned out to be loose/broken clips that held the trim in place.

Hell, my airbag leather makes noise, the headliner on certain days makes noise and now the secondary air injection pump makes the engine bay rattle. I just turn up the radio.

And my back panel under the window randomly flies out

Is the secondary air injection pump making a whine? Mine is... Radio? I can't even hear it when I'm gassing it...

Sort of a whine/vibration. Normally only when the car is first started. The system starts the process about 15 seconds after starting. Right after you hear the exhaust change notes. The whine stops after 45 seconds or so.

Aug 2000 996 Turbo with about 160'700 km (99'880 miles), H&R suspension, driven hard all year-round (snow, rain, track, mountains, etc): no rattle at all. Nada.

Greetings,

I didn't hear any of the rattles this weekend at Pikes Peak International Raceway in Colorado Springs....But I did see a lot of Red and Yellow Ferrari's going backwards in my rearview mirrors......Rattles or not, these cars are unbelieveable.....It's not a car, its a freaking rocket.

personally I think the build quality of the 996's are pretty bad....I have had many rattles, the dealer tells me my car is quiet relatively speaking rattle wise.....which is hard to believe. The panel gaps in the dash are also unacceptable. Driving wise, its tough to beat though.
