Default Lowering a TT Cab -- Questions

I have read the various posts regarding PSS9's, ROW M030, X73, etc. on Coupes

My TT Cab, unlike earlier iterations, has the same suspension as the coupe (same spring rates, shock valving, etc.)

I will not track the car (other than some local events) and don't want a harsh ride - particularly given that that TT Cab is a bit heavier than the coupe.

I find the Cab a bit "floaty" in the corners and also like the look of a lower stance.

I can get my hands on Porsche Euro ride height springs that claim to give a 15-20mm ride height reduction.

Big question -- will doing the spring change compromise ride quality and if so, to what degree.

Thanks

I switched to PSS9s on my TT Cab about 2 weeks ago, and I really like it. I was able to lower the car about 1" (I think you can go further if you want). The stock ride height on my car was like an SUV! Plus you can adjust the dampers from 1 (hard) to 9 (soft). If you set them all to 4, you will get a very comfortable ride on the soft side. You will not ruin the performance. For better handling, I adjusted mine to 3 front and back. I think the rear could be set to 2 to improve even more.

Thanks.

Hey, why did you sell the 360? I was thinking of buying one, but when I drove it back to back with the TT Cab, I decided not to bother. I thought I was nuts, though!

Actually, my 360 is still for sale. I decided that I would get much more day to day enjoyment out of TT Cab than the 360 spider. With the 360, you have drive it hard to enjoy it. It is a fantastic car, don't get me wrong, but it's not as comfy and easy to drive as the TT Cab. Plus, you can drive the TT Cab around without attracting nearly as much attention.

Another factor is that the 360's market value is still high (over MSRP) and I don't want to hold it too long. And, if you care, the TT Cab has more power and torque.

Hey, one other thing you may want to consider if you change out the suspension is adjustable sway bars. People seem to like the H&R bars. As long as you are paying the labor to do the struts, you might as well have change the front bar, because it's a PITA to change out the front bar by itself. I didn't do this with my Cab, but I am going to do that on my TT Coupe soon.
