Default Headlight coating

Anyone used something like this to coat their headlights:

Spray Max 2K High Gloss Finish Clear Coat Spray Paint | Car Parts and Repair Refinishing Clear Coat for Permanent Sealing of Coated Surfaces | 3680061 https://a.co/d/1jAnDB1

I used a ceramic on the 996, the 991 has a film on it.

Yes, folks have used clear coat. Just be sure it is UV blocking and non-yellowing.

Yes, spraymax 2k is perfect and will last forever. My lights were bad and to get all the coating off I had to go down to 300 grit. A bodyshop told me they were ruined and could not be restored due to the haze in the lights. They now look brand new. Lots of sanding and I used spraymax 2k clear.

I used Spray Max 2K. Results look nice, but not factory perfect or as nice as the wipe on treatments (that need reapplying regularly to maintain UV protection). My son thinks it should be wet sanded to look perfect; I have better things to do with my time.
It should last a longer than other options, but don't expect miracles better than factory. Be cautious of data from people who don't drive their cars often enough for significant UV exposure.

They should look brand new. After clearing, you have to wetsand and polish them if there's any orange peel. And the catalyzed clear will last forever and is UV stable.

Can you provide any technical data on this? I have looked but found none that showed better than OEM coatings (which obviously have finite protection).
Please only respond to this request with actual UV filtering technical data. Polycarb is very sensitive to UV and is a cumulative effect.

Yes, go outside and look at any car, it's the same thing. All cars top coat is a catalyzed clear. It doesn't degrade for a very, very long time. Longer than most will have the car, and if protected, should last the life of the car. The main thing is using a catalyzed 2-part clear as it hardens unlike a 1k clear.

Not sure what you mean/referring to, but you can easily google the specs/data sheet right from Spraymax. It's UV/chemical resistant.

I'm thinking I'll give it a try, after wet sanding at 3000. I got the Spray Max to re-clear coat the spoiler on my 470. Figured it would work well on headlights too.

I just didn't want to put something on that was permanent, would yellow and be impossible to fix.

Has anyone put a DIY film on? If so, what would you recommend?

My 3M film suddenly turned yellow.I removed the prior owners 3M film myself and it was easy. However, given the cost of replacement headlights I want some protection.
