Default Rear tail working, but getting a light

Tail still goes up and down, but at around 55 I get a warning light that goes off and says malfunction. Anyone else ever had this.

Not uncommon - do a search with "rear spoiler fialure"
Could be a bad relay or just need to clean the lifters (those chrome cylinders)

Works fine again. It was strange because the warning was going off around 55 mph or at speeds that the tail should not be activated.

As mentioned in several posts over the past year or so, the 996TT has a known defect, and there is a TSB issued about it. As such, there is a sort of unofficial "recall", and the dealer will replace the defective parts under warranty.
