Turn3 will treat you right, and considering the current exchange rate, it's a bargain...

I have heard around $3500 in Vancouver and that is Canadian money so its almost free. Add in shipping the car both ways and it loses some of the appeal.

Absolutely agree with that, unfortunately in the car repair world today, it’s all absurd. Pinning will allow you to drive the car without immediate failure, so it’s highly suggested. There are 2 fittings that regularly exit the housings, so pinning will alleviate those, but not stop them from seeping down the road. 5k is a bit steep.

Have you had your coolant lines pinned?

I agree. Only he should do a big engine out maintenance job when he needs a clutch.

I did, but come on - not appropriate.

I paid $1800, but as noted earlier up, I also had a lot of other work done at the same time.

The shop who pins all eight fittings without removing the engine is Freed Performance.

They lower the engine on the mounts and remove everything from the top of the engine.

Did they pin or pin and glue?

My understanding is that they just pin.

It's nice to know that after over twenty years of this platform, we can still get a 5 page thread of bickering over pinning vs welding.
