I did look at the Ohlins stuff too, and don't get me wrong, the PSS9s are very good (I would love to know the difference between the 9s and the 10s), but active adjustments in ms appeals to me.

I think this may be accurate. When I was looking at the DSC site I was surprised to see the retrofit solution - I like the EDC in the BMW and 991, and although the BMW seems to have functionality, the 991 rides better when more stiffly sprung.

Funny you should ask that...
I am still under warranty with the 991, and I think I am going to stay that way for at least a couple more 2 year cycles (perhaps another 4 years). The reason being is that I find the 991 unbelievably effective in the city, and even more so out on the open road. Because of recent changes to the MVA here, you get caught going more the 40km/h over the limit, car gets impounded, lose license, sky falls, etc. This car is deceptive in its application of speed - it is quiet, reasonably comfy and can break any law in a matter of a few seconds. It is also driven on a daily basis and only has 16k kms on it over the last 2.5 years. My driving style has moved to a more, dare I say, 'restrained' application of higher sustained speed averages over given distances. Not quite as riveting as before the laws changed, but still satisfying in its own right.
There is a fellow over on the 991 forum (actually, there are several of them...) who are running Sam's stage 4 with methanol and putting down some crazy numbers, there are at least a couple 1000hp cars, both appear to be reliable (although, I am curious to see who's PDK goes first...), but if I am really honest with myself, there is no where around here where I could really enjoy something like that, as it is built - I would most certainly go to jail because I know that I would not be able to help myself, and restraint while piloting a 1000hp road missile would be the furthest thing from my mind. So, it seems like building a monster like that would be somewhat of a waste of resources. I am going to put a muffler on it because it sounds like a sewing machine, and MCL has said at some point there will be an equivalent Exclusive flash for it (30 hp) that will not impact the warranty, so I will be content with 610ish HP.
This is why the 996 is so appealing to me - I am quite content on working on it slowly, bringing it back to its former glory and capping my HP goals at around 600, because, otherwise I am buying an engine, and I don't really want to buy an engine (actually, that is a lie), because, then I will have to build something like Powdrhound's and the rabbit hole, for me at least, is infinite, not to mention another $40 - 60k - ish.
Will I do more to the 991? Probably. Who am i kidding, yes, of course I will, but I am content (for now) with the 996 as my primary project and just enjoying the fact the 991 is still on warranty...
Those EDCs are looking pretty sweet, by the way...

I have DSC stand alone in my 996 with bilstein b16 coilovers and it is wonderful, I was looking for comfort for the street and with position 1 it is almost like oem, strong brake and the car sinks from the front, it is perfect to go with my family, with the Position 2 is already more sporty and I like it better when I'm alone on the road, position 3 on the track was very good and position 1 on the track is when I really notice the difference in how soft it was

I can see that a lot of love went into that, very nice.
Is that a sequential gearbox?

I am not familiar with the CAE shifter, but I am familiar with your 600ft/lb toque wrench.
