Can you post the stats please on the Tip vs stick. Also appreciate anyone with experience of both. Living in LA I am inclined to get the Tip, although the '01 C4 with the 6sp was very smooth.
Thank you.
Thank you.

The raw performance numbers may not really be what you're looking for. Almost nobody will launch their tt from a standstill using lots of revs and a drop-clutch technique to duplicate "official"performance results. Magazine manual transmission techniques are also abusive. On the other hand, anybody can duplicate the tip results. In traffic, across an intersection, the tip will probably be faster due to ease of launch and avoidance of the 38mph upshift. This won't be reflected by the results you seek.
On the other hand, Pano tested a tt and a tip sequentially at Road Atlanta. In the hands of an expert driver, the manual was 1.5 seconds per lap quicker. In lesser hands, the tip might well be quicker. AS

I know of 2 places here in Orange County that have pretty good deals on used TT's.
I bought mine new about 90 days ago from the Newport Beach Porsche dealership (Not one of the aforementioned places) but in retrospect, probably should have bought a low mi. '02 or something...Better from a depreciation standpoint.
Timing is everything. At one point, one of the places had 6 '01-'02 TTs on the lot and really wanted to deal. Hit them when they are carrying a few and need to turn them over. You could save up to 5K.
Also, the 6 speed is VERY smooth-- think carefully before you get the tip, you don't want to regret it. I drive it on the 5 and 405 and love it...

and thanks for your insight. How is that M5? Drove a few and just hated the clutch feel. Shifter was ok, but man that clutch was poor. Opted for 540ia Dinan instead when I sold the C4.
In the C4, my knee killed me after driving to/from work due to the setup of the pedals. Hoping Tip wont have that issue.
Also, seats were so darned uncomfortable. Sports with leather, nothing upgraded, but the back area near shoulders wasnt wide enough and I'm only 6'1 <200lbs. I couldnt get my back into the seat. I've heard supple leather can help?
