996 turbo smokes at start up
My 996 turbo just started to smoke out exhaust at start up. Once warmed up doesn't do it even, if restarted. There was some oil in the left bank intake when I was looking for pressure leaks. Is it a turbo seal?

Mine does that, passenger side turbo has had a seal let go. Once warm, goes away, but I am using more oil than normal.

i've never had any smoke unless i park on a hill/incline at a weird angle then oil seems to pool then settle and burnoff at startup. happened only once or twice. first time i saw that, freaked me out.
other than that. never even a puff @ 169k miles.

Let it idle longer before you shut it down and it should minimize it. Left turbo inlet has the vent tube fron the oil tank and usually has some oil in it. If you are not using more oil then normal don't worry about it.
