Question Quick questoin about key programming

So long story short, when I bought my turbo it only came with one key that I thought just needed a battery, but after opening it to change it I discovered it was just an empty shell. Yet another thing that was undisclosed in the BAT auction, but that's another story. I bought 2 fobs and need to get them programmed. After speaking to the dealership, they said the key needs to be in the ignition to program them. Will I have any problem swapping the key blade from one fob to the next to get them programmed? Just want to make sure there isn't a chip r something in the blade that makes each one unique. Thanks for any and all help with this!

If the car starts with the key, then it has the correct immobilizer pill in the case. If the dealership is going to program the new shell to the car, they will also program the car to the new pill (s).

Thanks for the link. So if I'm understanding this correctly, the key itself is just a slab of metal and as long as it fits the ignition I could program as many fobs as I wanted with one blade.
