Yep, the GT2 in Seal Grey takes the prize, especially with those superlative wheels...

I gotta say, the ol' 996 certainly holds her own in this picture. Aging like a fine wine.

Your front bumper looks amazing.

I thought you were not a fan of the GT2 upgrade?

What I'm surprised by is not that I find the turbo more attractive but by how large the margin is imo! And I owned a .1 GTS.

While I wouldn't do it to my car, I think the GT2 style wing and GT2 bumper look good on his car.

I actually considered installing a GT2 wing and GT2 front bumper on my 996 Turbo not long after I purchased it, but decided instead that I was going to keep the exterior as close to stock as possible.

Admittedly, I have ordered a GT2 front cover....

That's a great photo of the two generations side-by-side. These cars really do age well. When people ask me what year mine is, they're typically surprised to learn that it's well on its way to being 20 years old. They truly are beautiful cars (yes, I know... preaching to the choir ).

Your car does look great in the pictures. My 993 is almost always dirty so I’m amazed how clean your car just happened to be when you randomly showed up at your uncles house. Incredible! And I’m the only one who commented which implies many of you keep your cars that clean on a regular basis. I’d be a cleanliness pariah on this forum.

Anyway, again, you have a really nice looking 996TT.

The car was paint corrected, double ceramic coated and clear bra- ed by the previous owner. I can only take so much credit.

You need some PCBs to bring it up to S status. Great looking car. I am jonesing for a GT2 front end for the down force improvement. It woul help in turn 1 at Laguna where I get a little squirrelly.

Does the GT2 front end make a notable improvement to stability?

I haven't seen downforce measurements, but I imagine it is noticeable if you have the ducting that pushes air up through the bumper. Although the air dam is pretty small compared to other cars that have that type of downforce at the front, it definitely does something. Now it would be interesting to compare full GT2 front end to a 996TT bumper with a big splitter and maybe some canards.

I remember, years ago when the GT2 came out, that someone had stated there was a 2X% increase in air flow over the radiators - I could see that; openings are larger, flow comes through the cut out on the top of the bumper. If I am not mistaken, it is also a little boxier down low, with more aggressive canards(?not sure if that is the right term...) on either side.

I do like it more than the stock turbo front end. It would be interesting if there were some hard numbers on it.

What spoiler is on the 996? The turbo I'm looking to buy has non functioning hydraulic spoiler. Was thinking about getting an aftermarket one to put on.
