I'm in. Is a 30 AH big enough for a regularly driven car?

It should be provided there's not a lot of aftermarket accessories, but if your driving it often 30 would a good fit!

Forgive me for not researching this - but is there a specific tender designed for these? I have a 'special' one designed for the lightweight AGM battery in one of my cars; would that be compatible?

Yes for sure, the more you are driving the better to a degree... meaning the difference between a 30Ah and a 40Ah is that 10Amp hours which will give you more capacity to allow the car more storage time for not needing a charger if you are not driving often. In my GT3 RS I can get about 2 months not needing to be on a charger when not driving at all... for a Turbo, which has a little more electronics, I am thinking about 6 weeks in storage without a charger. So if you have a 40Ah then you get more time and its better if you also have extra accessories like a Camera, or you use chargers in your cig lighter port or stuff like that, or if you drive in freezing weather. But otherwise 30Ah is perfectly fine if these are not issues that relate to you.

No problem, yes you do want to use a specific Lithium Charger when charging a Lithium Battery. In the Car they charge fine... but aftermarket Lead/ACid chargers have a Desulfate mode which spikes voltage to a lead/acid battery in order to remove the Sulfate that attaches to the lead Acid plates... but lithium does not have this issue.... so having a charger spiking voltage to a lithium battery can cause damage to it. So you would want to get a lithium charger.

Do these last longer than a traditional battery? I don’t get to drive the car often but keep it on a battery tender biweekly.

Yes, lithiums typically have a 3% monthly loss compared to flooded batteries (AGM/ GEL, Lead) lose about 10% monthly. They also are good for my cycles.

30 Actual Amp Hours. Any of the Automotive Group sizes batteries, H6, H7, ect...will be rated in the same manner for actual Amp Hours. The ATX20, ATX30 ect...are technically still powersports batteries so you'll see the PbEq rating on those.

Life span is way longer at 8-10 years because lithium is rated at twice the Cycles as Lead Acid. So life is very long.

As for sitting in a Car longer for say weeks to months.... yes on that front but this depends on the level of Parasitic drain you car has and any extra accessories you might have put on your car. For example the 997 have more of a parasitic drain than the 991s.... 991s can sit for a very long time because all he system go to sleep deeply on the 991s so they barely draw any energy from the battery while sitting. And if you have extra accessories like Cameras, or USB Charger you put in the Cig lighter or other stuff then that can dramatically drain the battery faster. But yes we are getting longer storage times on the lithium than Lead since the self discharge is very low compared to lead acid.
