Guess I'll have to start visiting the 996TT forum to see what you're up to...
Hey udo thanks for stopping by! It really is a beautiful color, the paint has had a terrible polish job before I purchased it so once I get everything working I'll pay a professional to do a full paint correction on it, that should really make it pop!
I still find my self checking the 964 forum every day, the 964 was my first love so I'll always have a soft spot for them!
Yes please check in from time to time, no plans for this car other than getting everything perfect!

I had a 1997 993. Had an itch for a 996 Turbo though, loving it so far.

Nice, I really like the 993. I'm yet to drive my 996 since owning it but it sure looks good sitting in my shed!

Hi guys,
I'm currently making a big order at d911 to get the car up to speed. Please let me know if there is any thing else worth looking at.

•cabin filter
•air filter
•oil filter
•sealing rings for turbos, engine and oil tank
•spark plugs
•front hood struts (after it fell on my head)
•all nuts and bolts for the exhaust (not touching them yet but I like to be organised)
•various plastic speed nuts and screws for under trays and wheel liners (all are corroded beyond belief)
•turbo heat shields (both rusted and falling apart)
•transmission oil filter and gasket
•fuel filter
•brake discs and pads front and rear

Thinking of doing the coil packs while I'm doing the spark plugs.

I'll quiz you guys on the fluids when ive placed this order.

You also might want to consider replacing the Cam Solenoid brackets. PN 996.105.310.72. There is one on each cylinder bank right by the center plug. They can sometimes crack and cause issues.

Pull your front bumper
Clean all that stuff out.
Lube your locking mechanisms with graphite lock lube. Also change out your brake fluid if youre doing brakes.
Order your brake rotor sensors too theyre brittle at this age and tend to fall aprt.

Yes will definately get to the front bumper.
I've started at the back, cleaning and compiling a list of rusted fasteners etc'

Good idea on the locking mechanisms, is that just where you put the key in? I actually noticed my key is covered in black.

Definately wanto replace all fluids. And the brake sensors come with the discs and pads

You can do they key holes too just dont put the lube in the hole put it kn your key a 2 or 3 times then wipe the key off. I was talking about the hood and rear decklid latching, locking mechanisms.
I would pass on replacing coolant, You might run into problems with coolant fittings if they havent been adressed.

I don't think you need to replace the coolant but I would not worry about the coolant fittings being affected by a coolant change, as it would not see any increased stress more than driving it.
