Today, my new friend, a fairly recently acquired (3/19) 02 996TT hit 100k miles.
His name is Gus and he is happiest at 137mph....the highest speed so far, that we have shared. Recently Gus got a diy tie rod ends for front and new sway bar bushings. Front end feels a lot more accurate now....parts supplier sent incorrect rear bushings, so that will have to wait until later in the week.
I was tracing down a front and rear end rattle and taking out the low hanging fruit repairs. The front end is a lot quieter since the two sets of refreshed parts.
Gus has had a lot of work done, including tranny rebuild, clutch and accumulator/slave., misc pumps and a list of expected maintenance.
P cars I have owned 83 SC, 88 Carerra, 03 996 C2, 15 Macan s, 02 996 TT (Gus).
This is my favorite car ever...next closest and I have owned a bunch, S5, 550 xdrive misc P cars,..next fave car, 08 subaru xt outback that had stage 1 Cobb tune, legacy height springs, adjustable struts, modified sway bars hollow front and solid rear car needed rear end weight...it became and S4 wagon/avant killer ...
I digress......Gus is an almost daily driver.....he has a 2015 Macan S sister named Goldie....Goldie has a Cobb stage 1 flash....and wow....she books now.
howdy......no wrap on Gus...... caught him in really good lighting.......owise you would see he is a bit scruffy on the front bumper and little chipped on the hood....
