Default Clutchmasters 996TT Complete Clutch Range

Hey guys! We are one of Clutchmasters largest distributors and wanted to make a post showcasing the complete 996TT range. A lot of owners will go straight for an OEM replacement when their clutch goes, but a lot of the times, something aftermarket like Clutchmasters will be more suited to your needs.

For the 996TT, Clutchmasters offers everything from their FX100 OEM replacement clutch, to the 850 Series Twin Disc, for the high HP builds out there. We previously ran the 850 Twin Disc on our daily driven Project 997TT and LOVED it.

For any inquires or questions, please shoot me a PM!

I used to have a twin disc setup in my Subaru; really neat for full throttle launches, not so neat for tooling around town with.

I am curious as to how many folks use Clutch Masters...

if you need a clutch to hold high torque look into a tilton triple disc metallic or a twin disc protomotive clutch. my tilton was built to hold 1150 ft/lbs and is as easy to drive on the street as a oem clutch

Yeah, no - I used Kevin's GT3RS set up with the LWFW... I love it and in my world if it can hold 700 thunder ponies, that should be more than enough for me!

For what it's worth, I use their FX400 6 puck disc along with a custom steel flywheel and high pressure plate on my big turbo 5cyl VW. I like it, and haven't had any issues with it at all. That being said, I would not put any of these kits in my 911.

Just remember clutches don't care how much Hp you have it's torque that kills them

Understood - I won't go higher than 550hp, so tq should be no more than, and probably less than my power output...

While there are obviously other great clutch options out there. We have run Clutchmasters builds on numerous of our previous Porsche turbo builds. Our 997TT was running our VR825 kit and ran 206.2mph at the Texas Mile with a Clutchmasters kit. This car was daily driven and pushed hard without any issues with the clutch. Not trying to start a debate here, but we stand behind Clutchmasters as a quality brand for Porsche or any car that they make kits for.

Oh, I'd say there are some folks here that value a good debate...

until vivid makes good with the guy in the uk they screwed with a junk 4.0 engine kit they sold them i wouldnt consider anything they sell as a quality product. and bragging that their 997tt did in a mile what many turbos are doing in a half mile isnt much of an accomplishment.
