PPI done on the Turbo I just bought! STICKER SHOCK!
SO the struts and shocks need to be done. How hard is this to do myself?? The hood and engine lid struts are easy and cheap, as is everything else I can do myself but I never did shocks before. Kind of beginner backyard mechanic.

Yeah I'm finding these bilstein shocks a lot cheaper on ebay! Any reason to use the "heavy duty" vs regular?

ok so what shop charges you for wheel weights? its part of the balance price. 74$ for wiper blades? time for another shop! look into a set of ohlins r&t coilovers. 3k$ and will transform the ride of your car

I am going to talk to him because maybe these are inflated or high price genuine Porsches tax! It is a PPI to help negotiate the price with the seller...

If had the chance to drive a 996TT with Ohlin R&T coilovers on the street you would say the upgrade is worth it. The OEM setup is lacking.

I'm in albany too!! Rick and his crew are great but their prices are insane. I used to use him when he was working in a hole in the wall shop on central and was reasonable. Unfortunately most of the shops in our area are ridiculously overpriced. There is a great shop down near Middletown if you are willing to travel a bit and drop the car off for a few days. Send me a message if you want to discuss further. FYI Stay away from BUL auto, they are hacks.

Sounds like this car was on the extended deferred maintenance program.. If the rads are loaded with debris, they may need replacing as well. If you are really considering buying this plan on more repairs. Unless selling price is extremely low, you may want to keep looking for better maintained tt.

Did a lot of reading up on them and am convinced now to get the coilovers!

Actually most of this work I can do myself except for alignment!
