Default What Mods to Do?

Hey Guys,

I'm having the engine dropped for a major service to redo all the older hosing, headers, pinning the coolant pipes and changing fuel lines. While we are there, what mods/aftermarket products would you recommend we do to optimize the car. Should we change our the DVs, IPD? Thanks

Clutch and slave come to mind. Possible GT2 conversion on the clutch slave? Check valves. Headers, what are you changing them for? Stock have been proven pretty solid performance wise. Depending on your performance goals new larger injectors might be an option now while the engine is out.

How deep are your pockets? That's the question to answer first

Well, if you're dropping the engine...

Clutch and/or GT2/BBi conversion, LWFW
Pinned, mechanically
Exhaust, headers
New injectors/or/flowed and cleaned
Hoses (noted that...)
Belts
Water pump
Detent pin 2nd gear
Voltage Regulator (if the coil is good, which it most likely is)
Intercooler and silicone hoses
Plugs/coils
Cobb or Kevin
Rads
K&N

All of that (and a few more odds and sods) cost me, with labor, about $37k CDN (and a set of GT2 size tires/wheels).

I think well worth it as my car is essentially a single owner car and I have known it since the day it was delivered. I would think that the above type of mods/preventative maintenance is even more crucial if you haven't known the entire history of the car. Now my confidence level is high for 24, 2500km round trips.

Cheers,
