Intermittent wiper relay issue

Intermittent wiper relay issue
2004 996 tt. When I select the intermittent wiper position on the stalk, one wipe, that's it. I have a potentiometer to the left of the radio (Round dial with wiper logo on it). Turning this makes no difference. I even replaced it and checked the plugin. All discussion forums describe an intermittent relay in position 16 by the footwell. I have no relay in that position nor is the relay board wired for one at that spot. All other wiper functions operate as advertised. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

I think for most if not all year 996 Turbos, the "intermittent" wiper position and control **** uses the rain sensor, not a specific time delay. Are you just testing it in the garage with a dry windshield?
The rain sensor control module is in the frunk, behind the wiper reservoir fill cap. If the intermittent position doesn't work when it's raining, maybe the control module or the rain sensor itself?

To switch the rain sensor on you can move the wiper lever to "0" (wipers "off") and back to position "3" (down one position from "off"), operate the windshield washer, or change the sensitivity of the rain sensor with the thumb wheel. Switching on the rain sensor is confirmed by one wipe of the windshield.

intermittent wiper relay issue
After further investigation, I realized I have the rain sensor. Ther is a bubble between windwhield and the sensor that I discovered after I removed a window tint patch from the outside of the windshield that covered the sensor and I was not able to clearly see the sensor. I have a 35% windshield tint that is illegal in my state and probably all states. I bought the car in December and the window tints were installed from the previous owner. I also found out that window tints prevent the sensor from working properly as well.
