Fuch these rims
i am new to the 996. Mine came with these Fuch style wheels. Tell me your honest opinion. How do they look? Personally, I feel it does not look that great. I feel like the turbo looks old with the rims and not in a good way. What type of rims and size will make the turbo look more modern? Turbo twists?

I personally like BBS e88’s but they are pricey. The stock turbo twists look good or even the gt3’s look good on theses cars,
but it’s your car so choose what you like and what’s wrong with having more than one set of wheels for it.

In all honesty they don’t look good. The plus side is that they probably saved you a few thousand $ on the BAT auction. And if you go with an 18 inch wheel, you won’t need to buy new tires. I have a set of hollowspoke twists that need to be refinished that I would sell for ~$500 depending on shipping.

All turbo twist wheels are BBS made just one part number is lighter than the other due to their structural design, so they are referred to as "hollow spokes" vs non hollow spokes.

Three Wheelin'
The **** do look dated, if you like retro stuff you are golden. Stock turbo twists are "nice". I have OZ allegretia's and they are OK, decent looks and light. But there are some other wheels out there that look great.
If i was looking for new wheels i would do and extensive search with looks, weight and cost as the three factors in that order. GT3 wheels are nice and Porsche original parts.

The reason they look bad has to do with the fact that they look small due to the black counter and polished lip. Painting them silver would make them appear bigger and more than likely much better. The eye seems to focus on the center of the rim, and just like the original Fuchs, it makes them look smaller than they are. They could use some more positive offset and a good lowering of the car would help as well

Yeah, I spent big bucks on a set of 6GT3 wheels for my 996.2 car. Its period and factory correct and allows for a larger tire. Add the PSS10s and GT3 alignment and lowered it rocks.

not Fuchs, those appear to be Techart Formula GTS or maybe an offering from Ronal..it's tough to tell---- could have Techart stamped across from the valve stem

I have a very nice set of set of the hollow twists in w/b fitment if you are interested

Personally, I think the newish-in-Turbo-fitments Apex SM-10 wheels look fantastic on our 996 Turbos. They come in several widths and color options.
These are Anthracite 9/12 on my Turbo...

sport technos are "sharp" and retain an OEM look. GL finding any. also the gt3 wheels. same re an "oem" look.
as to wheel "choices"? the thread could be 17 pages long in a day or two lol
