Hello All,
Just took delivery of a new Turbo Cab. and put Champion Motorsports RS97 wheels on the car. I am now looking at the best way to lower it while still maintaining a good balance between shock and spring while not drastically reducing ride quality. H&R hasn't released coilovers for the car, according to their website, and the thought of stiffer springs on the stock shocks isn't very appealing. Is there a way to lower the car while maintaining the stock spring rates and handling/ride characteristics?
Thanks,
Stephen

Thanks,
Will have some pics coming at the end of next week. The teal is very nice, a bit unique in a good way. Anyway, as for lowering, does anybody know where I can get, the price of, or the common name of the lower Euro OEM springs for the turbo cab.?

I have Bilstein PSS9s sitting in my office and will get them installed in my '04 TT Cab next week. Bilstein said the TT PSS9 fits the TT Cab. I hope they are right.
Do you have any squeks or rattles in your dash? I have taken mine in three times and still have them. One in the center console and one on the passenger side dash.

HMS,
Can you give us a quick write-up on the JIC Cross Competition on your TT Cab?
I am about to get a PSS9 kit installed on my TT Cab and am getting 2nd thoughts.
On a coupe I'd go for the JIC Competition for sure... On a cab I'm afraid it might be too stiff.
Your thoughts?

Hello All,
As for weighing the differnt suspension options, I think my best option would be to lower the car with the European OEM springs. If I am correct, and correct me if I am wrong, are the same spring rates as the american OEM springs, and match to the stock shocks perfectly and simply ride at a lowered height. Also, if these seem like the option I am looking for, what is their technical name, and where should I go about looking for them.
Thanks,
Stephen

You'd mentioned H&R did not have coil-overs yet per their site.....I wouldn't trust a site to be up to date......I'd call em up (last # I had was 888-827-8881 or 360-738-8881...Steve Perett there used to help me).
Ask em what their schedule is. Another source would be Mike at AWE of Heinz at Gemballa.
Personally........I'd go for adjustable coil-overs (whether H&R or not).....in the past I've never been completely happy with just a spring change. When you put springs on you're done (whether you like em or not).....ie no control over height....no control of profile (front to back rake), no ability to corner balance, etc, whatever.
Best of luck on the new car, and congrats!...you're going to have a blast whatever you do.

I went through the same decision process as you. I have an '03 996TT and just didn't like the way the car sat. The front was a little too high. I swapped out the factory US suspension for the ROW M030 suspension and am very happy with the results. The car sits about 3/4" lower in the front and about 1/4" lower in the rear, which gives the car a slight "rake". It looks much better, and the ride seems to be about the same. I haven't tracked the car as I have only about 100 miles on the switchover, but I imagine it will handle a little better primarily because the center of gravity has been lowered a bit.
