Default Aux of Bluetooth for PCM 2.0 on 2004 Turbo

Does anyone have any suggestions on a plug and play AUX input or Bluetooth for the factory navi PCM 2.0 for my 2004 996?

I do not use the cd changer.

The only way I have been able to use BT is with the Design Gateway 500 and I plug a USB BT into it.

While it’s not exactly what you’re looking for, this Bluetooth FM transmitter is one of the best $16 I’ve spent.

Yes, surprisingly good. One caveat is that my car is a cab, so I have a lot of other noises that may be masking the sound quality. For $16, it’s worth a try.

Cool thanks. Probably better than taking the dash apart to have wires hanging. Appreciate it!

Have you seen this cable? Wondering if it will work

Just be aware FM modulators depend a great deal on location and interference

Default LAPOWER Adapter on Amazon

You may want to look at this unit.

Amazon Amazon

Several folks on the Cayenne side that installed with good results. I have a unit an tested with my 2008 Cayenne....I have a few issues since my Cayenne has the DVD entertainment vs. the CD changer. I tested and the phone functionality worked perfectly. I wasn't initially able to get the usb functionality working since I don't have a CDC.

I am going to test with my 2004 996 soon (PCM 2 with CDC). I will report back. I figured for $150 vs $$$ for Denison...it was worth a shot. I know I can at least get a phone connection in the Cayenne...

I use one of those 16 dollar fm modulators., once your moving punching gas , you really can’t hear hiss and engine static noise but it’s there, but for the times I use the car it’s a no brainer (I only put a few thousand a year on car). It awnsers phone, and plays music , you can control your phone from it. But I find these cheap modulators and a Iwatch3 work great. I just use watch to play music and control phone and never have to look away from road.

RCA audio converter kit fit Benz Porsche MOST fiber optic power amplifier to aftermarket Car DVD GPS Navi Audio Tuning adapter)
Digital Media Format: type B new Porsche
(Polo Zhou)
Bought this a few years ago and it plugs into the MOST fiber optic system giving aux input to my aftermarket Pioneer receiver. I now have an Ipad Mini in the dash connected to head unit and the head unit to the converter. The sound is excellent. The only negative is that you lose Fader control from PCM.

ipad Mini and Head unit replace PCM

Hi guys. Few months ago bought Cayenne with PCM2 stereo. Had same question. Needed to add Bluetooth for streaming music from Spotify and play MP3 from USB stick.
Found this interesting sollution:

https://www.mr12volt.com/bluetooth-s....1-cdr23-cdr24

Than one is much cheaper than Dension, but has a perfect sound quality. Found example of how it works:

Hope this helps.

Default Picture of song name in PCM

I went with the Mr12volt solution (described above), and it works great. It arrived in 3 days (using an USA fulfillment center), and I put it in in a couple of hours. Fader and balancing work as do the arrow (and number) controls on my PCM 2.0 unit to advance/reverse the song sequence. I was using a cheap FM transmitter before this, but the sound quality using the Mr12volt unit is much better. The song title appears on the PCM unit, though I wish it would also display the artist. Also, unlike the video noted above, with iPhone Bluetooth connectivity, I don't see a list of song track titles (may only work with the thumb drive as shown in the video). I'm connecting via Bluetooth from an Apple iPhone X.

I haven't tried using the USB, aux, or micro slot, but may see if it will provide power to my iPhone. The microphone included with the kit does allow you to use the phone through the stereo, but the sound quality is not great. So far, this is the best solution I think for adding Bluetooth connectivity to the PCM 2.0 units. Once set up, it reconnects effortlessly.

You should probably find some powertaps better than the included kit versions, as they are inflexible. For my install, I hooked the black Mr12volt wire up to the brown PCM ground wire and the red Mr12volt wire up to the PCM red/yellow power wire (unwrap it a bit), though it may differ for yours. You can get the radio out using a 5mm L-shaped hex wrench, accessed from the sides of the unit in 4 locations. The top and the bottom ones turn in opposite directions, as I recall, and the bottom ones are a bit hidden above the metal lugs that can be seen. There's plenty of room behind the radio to stash the Mr12Volt box.

Link to their website: https://mr12v.com/ There's a Porsche specific unit (plus versions for plenty of other MOST-supplied cars). There's also a Guides link (https://mr12v.com/videos-for-porsche ) there for installation (though a bit out of date as you don't need to disassemble the fiber optic connector now) and usage.

I shipped my radio over to Becker Autosound to get bluetooth added to it. It works for music streaming but not for phone. They can also add Aux port if you need.
I am satified with the result. Not too bad for the price.

How does it work? Is there any info displayed on the screen like song or artist name?
