I replaced the front facia on my M3 years ago and it was package very nicely in the huge box with no "A" surfaces contacting the box. My 996TT bumper came loose in the box like below. Scuffs and some minor scratches etc. The green bubble wrap was for other parts I ordered with the bumper so it was basically was just a loose bumper tossed in a huge box. Seems rather underwhelming.

If contact whoever you bought that from and ask about that. Granted it’s in primer and the scuffs and scratches will be covered once you paint but that’s not the point. You paid a pretty penny for that I’m sure

Porsche packaging generally sux. I've ordered a lot of items that were damages on arrival. Dealer simply ordered another piece without batting an eye..

The Porsche facility here in Atlanta has long been careless with their shipping packaging. I remember Kevin (UMW) telling me stories of receiving cam shaft(s) from the facility here in Atlanta where essentially they were wrapped in paper and dropped in a box, arriving damaged.

Is it damaged? Seems like a pointless post unless the bumper arrived damaged?

Yeah the part is surely serviceable and likely standard paint prep will take care of any of the mutilation that occured while bouncing around in the back of a semi. I paid $300 to have it shipped, the bumper wasn't free and it is an asthetic part so I just wanted to know if all the covers are minimally packed or if I got special treatment. When thinking of the typical German over- engineering it must not apply to the Porsche packaging engineer.

It definitely could have been packed better, but I've seen much worse. Ask yourself if you've given them any reason to give you special treatment lol.

For comparison, I just had a decklid and wing delivered and it came like this...
