Okay installed the seats! not as easy as i thought but will be easier the 2nd time around! but defiantly a good 3-4 hour job the first time around

few observations for anyone installing these seats after you have the Sliders and Side mounts already installed on the seat previously

1) i didn't disconnect the battery but just left the key out, no air bag light
2) use the proper Torx Socket and not 10mm you may strip the head... i did one and had to have a shop remove it next day with Torx, thus my install took 3 days lol
3) for 996 Comfort Seats they are suuuuper heavy and take your time looking and disconnecting the harness under the seats
4) seat is easier to remove when folded but take you time, put towels to protection
5) do yourself a favor and buy new Seat Belt Receptacles because to remove them off the Comfort power/heat seat is a major Pita! if you do this you can cut the install time in half to 1-2 hours
6) installing the buckets is easiest part of this whole project, they are light and easy to put in

i didnt run the Seat Belt thru the Ears and have good body contact im 5'11. i feel if i run it thru the ears it will rub my neck

Great comments. I went through the same exact thing, except put in a Techquipment roll bar at the same time. Now THAT was a PITA!!!

I am looking at getting a set of the 996 gt3 recaros for my 997 turbo and remember reading that these rub the b pillar in the 997. Are you able to confirm/deny this statement? At 6'6" I would be running the seat as far back as possible on the factory sliders with BK mounts.

Thanks,

Kevin

No idea. Maybe ask in the 997 forum?
