Think it's time to upgrade turbos...
Think I'm ready to finally pull the trigger. Car currently has upgraded clutch, Kline 2.5" exhaust, umw tune. Has had new oem fuel pump put on as well in last 18 months.
I'd like to get around 600 Hp. Car will be mainly street driven. I know I'll also need to do injectors.
What's everyone's recommendation these days? I had been looking at Sam's 1668's. Not sure if there are better options now for bang for the buck.

I have Sam's 1668 turbo along with his mafless tune and a slew of other goodies. My estimate is I'm somewhere between 600-700 crank hp. Kevin's work speaks for itself as does Sam's. My feedback on the 1668 turbos is that while they get wheezy at the very top end, they react like a v8. Anything above 2200 rpm and there's plenty of power on-tap, great for squeezing the throttle a bit to make a quick pass.
I should add, I run the Siemens 60lb injectors because they came with the car and my fuel rails were already modified so when I did the turbos I just sent them off to be cleaned/calibrated. If I were to do injectors from stock today I'd go Cobb/ID 1000 or ID 1050 if you couldn't find the ID1000 anymore.

As much as I like Sam I think even he would tell you there is value in sticking with a single tuner IF you already have a good working relationship with them. These packages (Marski, Todd @ promotive, Kevin @ UMW, Sam @ ByDesign) all work as an ecosystem. An apple iphone works better with a mac computer than a windows PC.

Cheers guys. Yeah it’s gonna come down to your relationship and what will you check off as many boxes as possible for you. For example we use the Cobb access port and we have our own line of products as do the other find gentlemen mentioned. Who are all my friends and I would be glad to help and work with anyone at any capacity so you can get the best value. We also have larger 24 based turbo chargers and other options it really just comes down to what you want. Good luck

Yep, i'm open to sticking with kevin, and sam's also been a solid asset for me. Fully understand if I go away from kevin i'm ultimately losing the UMW tune, which isn't a huge negative. Whomever I buy from will require a new tune so that's in the equation for me.

Where in the powerband and how much power are the things a good tuner can manage for you. My desire for big block feel on a track with some low speed corners to keep up with others was exceeded with Kevin's ZC turbos. Before, a C6 Z06 would walk away from 40mph, about 80 I'd be gaining, and into braking close the gap. Now there's no gap

make sure you know what your goal is and do it once. i have k16 bases billet and hate the fact that it falls off around 5 to 5.5k or so. it hits strong low but you really end up short shifting....in my case should have gone k24 based billet
